Something magical happened: I replaced Mochi's old cardboard box that she was chewing up and that was next to my bed with an actual cat bed and she was in it today!!

On account of Dino not having an undercoat he's now the owner of 3 (soon 4) cat-sized sweaters that are currently in the wash. He's good for wearing them too but has to get used to moving around in them. Yeah, I know. That's a bit "crazy" buuut... you know.

I just used the undercoat rake on Bella and oh no honey, she is starting to shed already. It's February! It's cold!! (not a furminator, it's a brush where the teeth are far apart so you don't rip out still attached fur but it still gets the loose hair)

Visited my parents. Saw a pheasant in their garden. My mother said they got a new cat in the neighborhood, an all gray one. She said she'll take a photo the next time she sees it. I'm all 👀 because potentially a Russian Blue?? One of their neighbors has a Maine Coon so not impossible.

Apparently the newest rehash of the potterverse finally alienated my parents enough to give up on it. Maybe. Hopefully. The racism somehow won over morality.

I thought to myself, well since Heated Rivalry currently isn't available in my country I might as well read the books. For some reason I didn't think a book with one of those terrible ya clipart romance covers would have an explicit sex scene not even 100 pages in. 😅 Queer books ... hell yeah.

I've been very diligent lately when it comes to brushing the teeth of my cats and so far Mochi is surprisingly the most well-behaved about it despite being a former stray. Bella has the worst, Dino the best teeth. Mochi's look okay too. But she was fed Purina for 4 months at the foster.

I don't know if this is because Dino is now healthy again buuut... his back fur is getting softer again. For a while it was really coarse.

After ignoring my kuva lich in Warframe for about 2-3 years I finally killed him.... only to pick up malware in Höllvania. Yep that's right, my warframe character now gets harassed by a boyband. What a trade

Got Dino's lab results back (that was quick!) and sent them to my FIP group contact. Fingers crossed please that the result is that he's healed. I still don't know what all the markers mean so I can't tell.

Bella is giving me some homework again because I don't know if she's having a delayed allergic reaction to the tooth cleaning stuff or if it's the chin acner cleaner for cats because that's a mix of cat-safe ingredients but cat-safe doesn't mean Bella can't be allergic to them.

Randomly remembered a book I read as a kid but it's impossible to find again because the main character was a mama cat who used to be a stray and she's out and about looking for her lost son in the big city. Not sure if this was originally in German or a translation. Impossible to look up.

I found a German ceramics shop that makes bowls for Surefeed feeders. As in, these will fit without food slipping into any cracks (Bella loves this trick). Hopefully a good solution to the chin acne situation because I currently have to scrub the chins of all three cats every day.

I'm trying an algae-based tooth cleaner for Bella now that goes into her food. She eats it no problem. I just hope she's not allergic to algae so fingers crossed please. At 3 1/2 years old she already has some bad tartar buildup. Brushing her teeth is currently impossible too.

Dino's hopefully final blood test for FIP is in a week. I'm switching him over to my regular vet because that's also where I want him to get neutered. (I'm lucky so far because he only marked in the litterboxes following Mochi's example instead of literally anywhere else.)

Cat chaos this morning was a palette of food on the floor and I'm so lucky none of the cats got hurt (moved them somewhere else now) and also my prismacolor pencils everywhere. With some luck they didn't break because local art supply stores don't have them so I can't replace single pencils. 😔

I saw that a certain pet food brand now makes potato-free dry food for cats... unfortunately they always add a type of fish Bella is allergic too. But I think this is still significant because it tells me pet food companies that actually care about quality might move into that direction in general.

Bella's spit is off to the lab. Let's hope I got enough for a test because swabbing her was extremely difficult.

I'm having some complicated feelings because of Dino and it sucks. I know being angry with an animal is utterly pointless, so that makes it even worse.

Bella was playful this morning so I made the bed for her since she loves chasing the wrinkles on the comforter. She's now lying on the bed while I'm gone. 🥰 I really need to go back to making the bed for her every day again.

Took a bath which only happens every once in a blue moon since I prefer to shower and at some point I had all three cats in the bathroom because they needed to know what was going on. Dino was there 90 % of the time, not sure if he was curious or worrying about me lol

Going to the sci-fi & fantasy section on Netflix nowadays feels bleak (why are these joined??). Either my Netflix doesn't show me everything (most likely!) or it really is only dystopian nightmares, little kids show, edgy male-oriented shows and a franchise I got no interest in.

Positive Dino updates: the boy is thriving. His zoomies are out of this world. His coat is getting a bit softer again. He kneaded on me in bed this morning. He's being sweet again, like when I first got him but without being sickly.

He's so strong now.
