Rarely do I watch an AEW PPV and feel like I wasted my time, but man, I could've been watching so many things other than the last half of that show and I probably would have had a better time. Shame. It started pretty strong too.

WWE's debut on Netflix and AEW's debut on Max were both big misfires for different reasons. AEW on Max was fine in a vacuum, but it felt like a random episode of Dynamite with zero fanfare. RAW on Netflix had all of the fanfare in the world, but it was a really bad show.

"Promo battles" as a concept are extremely corny to me. I get very little from watching two people hit weak insult comedy lines on each other. Seeing wrestling audiences in the crowd and online reacting to them like they just heard Ether for the first time is baffling.

Okada vs. Ospreay was just pure "no thoughts head empty" balls to the wall greatness. An absolute shootout between a GOAT level fighter who's still relatively fresh and a wounded freak athlete doing his best to smash his way through a brick wall. Sometimes? You just want a blockbuster.

Watching some DPW from throughout the year. I really like how they handle their upper midcard and main event scene. They have a clear vision for their stories at all times but don't take 84 years to tell them.
