Possibly unpopular opinion: I'm really bummed they're doing a drone show tonight at the Pops in addition to the fireworks.

I'm mad as anything at the federal executive branch, and thankful as it gets to live in Boston but I love my country. And my second-most redneck trait is how deeply I enjoy fireworks.

Being the "mom friend" is having snack for the group at any age, but turns out in your 30s it's also having a spare sharpie in your protest bag.

I know I have correctly curated this account because of the distaste being shown for the members of the USA men's ice hockey team @ the address... it's also important to highlight which 5 players aren't actually there, so they might face less vitriol. (The Athletic article is behind a paywall)

Trump points at Democrats and says, "these people are crazy. I'm telling you. They're crazy." (Note that Pete Hegseth and the rest of the cabinet are standing and cheering.)

Yes we're an hour in and a lot of things have made me mad and nauseous and exhausted... but the idea that it is appropriate for the President to point at sitting members of Congress and say, in a national address, "These people are crazy" & the VP stand to applaud it... Something is broken, y'all.

Theme of the day: all the feels about people not bothering to be appropriately intentional with their word choice and the language they use. Ugh.

One of my favorite things about prioritizing attending things for the purpose of being in community with strong women is the frequency with which I am inadvertently in a place where

It's exhausting simultaneously pretending Boston has a high-tier transit system while also viscerally appreciating how walkable the city is because various parts of the T are down/dysfunctionalπππ

I'm always thankful when the T gets me back downtown before having issues. Walkable shoes are the cornerstone of my closet for exactly this situation.

What I wanted wasn't available in the dimensions I needed, so the store employee suggested I might use a carabiner and a zip tie... Then everyone in the store laughed when I explained that "I'm an elementary school teacher, I can 'hack' it until kingdom come, but I wanted to buy one."

When someone shows you who they are, believe them. When someone tells you what they care about, believe them. When someone goes on very public record, with hundreds of in-person witnesses, stating their goals and intentions, believe them.

Why are the diagnosis rates of autism higher today than they used to be? Probably for the same swath of reasons that being diagnosed as anything other than neurotypical no longer means automatically being institutionalized π€·ββοΈ

I cannot imagine sitting in a Presidential address as a deceased loved one is being talked about, and having to try to hold it together knowing the TV cameras will find you. It must be an incredibly difficult moment for these families, even as they and their loved ones are being honored/praised π

How can this number of people applaud the proposal that even one public school lose federal funding over extracurricular participation?! (Yes I know there's more reasons he'd pull funding... But that was effectively the punchline of that story.)

I know I should be preserving my brain cells and sanity to not watch this address but sometimes you just need to experience things with your own senses, even bad things.

Decorum is not singing as a Congressperson is removed from a Presidential address. Talk about an overt double standard.

It's all about balance. One ear on a school committee meeting, one ear on the Presidential address... so maybe it's my own fault I think I heard President Trump compare himself to George Washington? But I think that really happened.
