It’s weird when people shame new readers. When a reader learns about an author they’ve never read before, that’s nothing but a good thing. Or are we all just supposed to download some canon at birth? That would defeat every purpose of reading.

I think I’m finally at the point where I want to work on my own original work instead of fanfiction. I have a fantasy romance novel in mind, but the MMC is less “dark, broody, and sexy” and more “gawky, awkward, and ‘how are you not dead yet’” Don’t know if there’s an audience for that 😂

Anyone else get really nervous about introducing OCs into a fanfiction, or am I just silly? (This OC serves a purpose! But he is Good Looking and I fear that makes him immediately lose points—even if him being good looking is mostly a joke lol)
