Experimenting with new techniques for mixed media art. I photographed these flowers, converted to grayscale, & printed on wet strength tissue paper. Then I adhered it to a gessoed panel. The paper disappears into the background, leaving the flower and revealing whatever is underneath the tissue.

Hegseth said in his talk to the military brass that he wanted them clean shaven bc he didn’t want them looking like a bunch of Norse pagans. Personally, I think that sounds like an army worth having. Although an army of clean shaven square jawed Christian Nationalists is terrifying in another way.

Quintessential NM: coyotes left a scat message to our dogs on top of a tumbleweed at the driveway end. Coyotes and roaming dogs in our neighborhood have corners where they leave notices to all the others. The end of our driveway is one of those communication centers. Sky duly urinated on top of it.

Sky the Husky does yoga with me.

This is a gelli plate printing press and a print I made on it. Some were curious about what a gelli plate is. It’s a way to make prints without a more elaborate printing get up. You can buy one online in different sizes or make one at home.

Today, as the leaves begin to die back in Northern New Mexico, I’m seizing the opportunity to make leaf prints with acrylic paint on my Gelli plate. I’ll use them later this winter in mixed media collage.

This a jar of art ideas. My ADHD brain gets overwhelmed with too many ideas that I can’t get started. So my autistic brain made a system to help. I’ve got one jar of concepts that fascinate me (like trees) and another jar of techniques and materials and colors (like charcoal or magenta).
