We are saddened to hear of the passing of Yuji Ohno. A legendary musician who was the heart & soul of most of the music of Lupin the Third for nearly 50 years will certainly live on as his music & themes will continue to be synonymous with the famous thief.

Recently, I re-recorded the soundtrack for my short film "Staring Contest" for a local gallery exhibition. I did this all in GarageBand, and it was my first time using it. I have very little formal musical training, but this is probably the closest I've gotten to creating a decent-sounding tune

I rarely animate stuff on paper, but I decided to animate this run cycle straight ahead on a whim. Extremely imperfect but fun! I used a grease pencil to draw this. They're a bit tough to use but I really love the thick, violent outlines. Song: EASY by Kumiko Aimoto

Sneak peek of a very short cartoon I'm working on. I'm likely going to have to rush through the rest of it so it might not look this good, but at least I have this shot to be semi-proud of! I animated it digitally, then traced the frames onto watercolor paper and then painted each frame.

A quick, spontaneous and fully straight-ahead animation test I did about a month ago. I wanted to try out a more limited style, heavily inspired by '70's gag anime. (Particularly by the studio "A-Pro", predecessor to Shin-Ei, which did The Gutsy Frog and certain episodes of Lupin III Part I)

I found a pretty cheap copy of George Bridgman's "Constructive Anatomy" during a recent Barnes and Noble buying spree, and I've just been going hog-wild doing these studies. .....GOD this stuff is so, so hard, but I do kinda like doing them despite everything.

Crayon Shin-chan sincerely has some of the greatest cartooning I've ever been lucky to witness. I think I took a screenshot of every single frame that was in this episode

I'm not entirely proud of how this came out in retrospect, I animated this in early 2022 for a reanimation collab and it kinda shows. This was back when I was still a HUGE fan of BoJack, BUT I recognize I put in a ton of work into this and felt it was still worth showing, even if it looks janky now.

And this STILL somehow took me way more than 5 minutes lol

Cleaned up the Lupin duck!

This was incredibly hard to animate, but here's an animated painting project I just finished. I animated this on watercolor paper and painted it with both watercolors and acrylics.

I had to REALLY rush this one out as a final project for a class so I'm really not proud of the wonky drawings here, I might even redo it eventually, but this is more or less exactly how I feel when attempting to make art.

If you haven't already...WATCH. MIND GAME. NOW. I cannot stress that enough. An absolute game-changer of a film, both thematically and artistically. A movie that will give you hope. A movie that will inspire you to no end and will only get more and more inspirational as you rewatch it.

A shot I did for a Spongebob reanimated project in 2022. I was into Gravity Falls at the time. I left Patrick naked out of pure laziness lol (his clothes would have been inked separately, but I was animating this all on my phone and I was too lazy. I guess fwiw it's probably funnier in a way.)
