Rabid reader and forest walker
Has anyone read HAVEN'T KILLED IN YEARS Amy K. Green, yet? I picked it up, put it down, picked it up, and halfway through went, wait, what...I think I missed something and finished it in short order.

HOT DESK Laura Dickerman is a publishing story told in two voices. I particularly loved the "historic" narrative (I hate that the 80's are historic). The stories blended well and had a satisfying conclusion.

Just finished Shannon Bowring's third book in the Dalton trilogy IN A DISTANT VALLEY. I love this town so much and her writing is achingly beautiful. Reminiscent of Fannie Flagg

It feels like a long time since there was a new Chevy Stevens, but I guess not really. Either way, glad to have gotten a copy of THE HITCHHIKERS in the mail this week.

Am I the only one who, at first glance, thought these were muffin liners? Loved the use of pencils and magical realism in THE PHOENIX PENCIL COMPANY Allison King

35-year-old, plus-sized Sunny Greene has a breakdown in the dressing room trying on a bathing suit (who hasn't?) This becomes a catalyst for her to reevaluate her life and take control in this debut novel that is whip-smart and filled with self-deprecating, but wise humor.

As we near the last few days of
#libfaves24
there's still time for a few more shout outs. My list wouldn't be complete without THE LIGHTEATERS Zoë Schlanger. What do plants know, what would they tell us is they could, and what do they hear us say and what secrets do they hold? Utterly fascinating

I'm reusing a recent post. The family dynamics in this book were amazing, the whip-smart banter, especially from the mid-mother was wonderful; add to it a family mystery to solve, such a great read with plenty for book groups to discuss!
