It's been easier for me to be kind to myself since. I learned that some of the stuff I experience that always made me feel defective in some way have explanations, have been studied. Like I've got aphantasia. Can't form mental images of any kind. I have no inner monologue. It's a relief to learn

Doesn't look like there are a lot of options for US citizens with a serious disability to relocate to a less hostile country, so I'm hopeful someone on Bluesky might know at least a(n affordable) state that has made some attempts to strengthen care services that we might be advised to move to?

I've been disabled my whole life but never knew of a pride month until I joined Bluesky. Anyway I want to single out those who care and look out for disabled people. I have the best dad ever. Moves earth and sky to get me whatever support he can, my fiercest advocate. He's why I keep going.

I have hydrocephalus, which due to the associated brain damage to my right hemisphere means my left side is all sorts of fucked. Lifelong anxiety, depression, isolation too Happy disability pride month I guess. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Medicaid, SNAP, SSI/SSDI funding needs to be increased, not cut, and tied to cost of living. Those with disabilities deserve dignity and self-determination.

I'm heartened to hear that Labour MPs are rebelling against the cruel welfare cuts. May those on our side of the pond come to a similar realization and protect Medicaid.... These services are a critical lifeline to countless disabled people, myself included.
