Our new meta-analysis is out! Can exercise increase hippocampal volume in depression? Animal: Yes — exercise shows positive effects, especially in the CA4/dentate gyrus. Humans: Not yet — effects are very small and non-significant. We need longer, more intensive, and better-controlled trials.
