I said it was a practical car!

All true. Cynic in me says another reason couldn't last was those at the top of hierarchies don't cope well with this. I remember a few times when someone with a big job stumbled into a discussion and seemed genuinely angry when people wouldn't defer to them in the way I assume they were used to.

If I was convinced by what Shabana Mahmood is saying about immigration, I'd vote Reform. If I was dubious but then persuaded my on balance, I'd vote Reform. I don't understand what they think they are doing.

Busy weekend in Minehead. Lovely to catch up with friends from school and still do exactly the same things as 25 years ago. Just slower and slightly quieter. We are still terrible at snooker and bang average at pool.

Someone thinks it’s too early for the morning walk.

Listening to the Man City vs Liverpool game, @willenhalle-act.bsky.social were able to send 10 students up to the Etihad Stadium in midweek to watch a European game. Great to be able to reward some fantastic young people.

Woke up this morning determined to get some paperwork done. The computer has been on and I have; • re organised my email inbox • fed the Christmas cakes on amaretto • walked the dog twice • done the washing up • eaten half a Bakewell tart • read the end of a book I hadnt finished on holiday

First customer in the new @willenhalle-act.bsky.social student toilets. Paid for by money saved by staff - busy first day back but lovely to be back together again! Such a necessary upgrade to our facilities.

A great day of commemorating a young lad who died ten years ago. Lots of people came to mark the occasion with his mum and dad, really special.

Just year 11 in yesterday. They received their mock results in English and Maths and then we laid on masterclasses. As SLT we met with every year 11 student and their academic mentor (parents invited too). In a school where we need to shift outcomes - this felt like a good start. #halfterm

I've been a trustee at the Holocaust Educational Trust for a while now so I see all the stats and it's so dispiriting. I think we do a good job fighting back through education but it sometimes feels like trying to hold back the tide with a leaky bucket.
