I've been a trustee at the Holocaust Educational Trust for a while now so I see all the stats and it's so dispiriting. I think we do a good job fighting back through education but it sometimes feels like trying to hold back the tide with a leaky bucket.

Open Evening at @willenhalle-act.bsky.social this week. Going into it as a really confident school is fantastic. Attendance is still 6% higher than the same time last year and year 11 Attendance is 8% higher. 👍

For years our school has had a couple of hard to shift habits; 1. Mondays were always more disrupted by low level behaviour after unsettled weekends 2. Attendance dropped by around 5% every Friday Friday was highest attendance last week and today was a great day at @willenhalle-act.bsky.social

In the summer @willenhalle-act.bsky.social was inspected twice. We were graded good in all areas on both visits. We are still really early on our improvement journey but after the second week of school our attendance is 6.5% up on the same point last year. Great start. #willenhallthentheworld
