A delight to speak to director, actor, and dialect coach Paul Wagar today. Paul played Peter Harris, one of the airmen who kidnapped Kessler in S2E7, Weekend! We plan to release the interview in October.

Was watching him in A Design for Living last Christmas, not knowing he’d already died. A fine actor. He’s memorable for being in one of the best scenes in Secret Army, where Angela Richards gives the ‘compartments’ speech which should have won some awards!!

Just discovered Clive Arrindell slipped away quietly without many announcements around Aug/Sept 24. Fans will remember him from A Question of Loyalty as Ernst Stoller, masquerading as a British airman called Maurice in an attempt to infiltrate the line. 1/2

Saddened to hear Norman Eshley passed away last weekend. He did a wonderful job as Sgt. Clifford Howson in S1E6, Growing Up. He played the airman discovered by the boy in the caves, whom Albert and Lisa daringly rescued by staging a horse riding accident. Condolences to his friends and family.

Sad to hear that the unassuming and beautiful actor Damien Thomas has died, best known for playing the cunning Father Alvito in the original Shogun and suave wheeler-dealer in Tenko. I got to know him pretty well and he was a completely lovely guy.

One of the most ridiculous and unbelievable plotlines of the whole series (only Lisa's escape from jail coming close) and yet apparently based on a real story (according to your book!). That said, it is a tense and exciting episode - it does feel however like a war movie type plot 1/2
