Today UK authors are protesting against Meta for stealing our work to train their AI model. Authors earn an average of ÂŁ7000 per year, we are not rich, and yet a trillion dollar company decided it didnât want to license our work fairly as it was âtoo expensiveâ Theft is not a valid alternative.

One of my favorite things about
#peatlands
is their patterning at different scales caused by millennia of interplay between hydrology and peat accumulation - mainly Sphagnum mosses. Spent my Saturday evening looking at satellite images of the Hudson Bay Lowlands - a perfectly reasonable activityâŠ
