Why did my second batch of kueh shaker "grew" a size bigger? 😭😅

So... some stuff happened that led me to break my piggybank and purchased a soft copy of DaVinci Resolve Studio online. Was super ready to get into it, only to be told I have to wait indefinitely for my license code because "it is on backorder as the studio is currently out of codes". Ehhhh???? 😰

I always knew RGB conversion to CMYK could result in the loss of colour vibrancy or desaturation... but I didn't think the opposite effect could happen as well?? Why did the image became overly-saturated 😭

Printing books in bulk is really EXPENSIVE. And that's not even factoring shipping cost. I thought I have myself mentally prepared for this, but seeing the actual numbers now... How am I going to recover from this financially 😭

explain your username: I have always been very bad at naming stuff, so when I was thinking of a new username, I took two nouns that were closely related to the personal project I was working on at that time, and smashed them together. Voilà~ "I have a kueh, I have a merlion. UH! Kuehmerlion!" 😂

I would like to think the book is at least 95% done. There are still plenty of stuff I need to iron out, though it is slowly inching towards the finishing line! Stressful and nerve-wrecking, but also very fulfilling to see my work reaching fruition. ☺️

Every so often I would have very random, vivid dreams. Not so much of nightmares, but I personally think there are quite amusing. I will share the most recent one from last night:

Finally! 88 kueh illustrations, completed~! I wrapped it up with the Hokkien Tee nya/Kee ya kueh. There's more work left to be done, such as the book formatting, glossary, etc but now I can truly say that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to the completion of this book. 😁

Visited the other KOI branch that was running the R1999 campaign in Singapore yesterday, and the collab gifts were all fully redeemed!? The staff told me I can still buy the drink and get the limited paper bag though 😂 It's a bummer, but it's nice to know that there is a growing fan base here~
