Crewe ✅ Station 400/2589 Crewe was ticked off , having arrived from Norwich behind 451118 on the UK Railtours 'The Peak Broadsman' positioning move”. Crewe is a large station, with 12 platforms, Crewe has many different TOCs serving many different destinations.

Sunday morning, started early from my hotel in Ipswich, to get up to Norwich in good time, for the 9:36am service to Berney Arms, which allowed 20 minutes at arguably the most remote station one England before the return service back to Norwich. Berney Arms ✅ Station 399/2589

Elton & Orston ✅- Station 395/2589 Least Used in Nottinghamshire✅ Britain’s Least Used Station ✅ Elton & Orston, is Britain’s Least Used Station being used by just 68 people in the last financial year, it’s got sparse facilities and gets Two trains a day (6:55 & 17:11).

Bottesford ✅ - Station 394/2589 A nice little station, staggered platforms, a little foot crossing towards the west of the station, hourly service for most the day but at times some don’t stop here. Good for photos especially stuff heading towards Grantham.

Grantham ✅- Station 393/2589 A nice station in a large town, fan of the station building and copies. Frequent services to London, the midlands and the north east. LNER & EMR serve here. I would recommend this station for night photography, under the station canopies is best.

Had quite the adventure today (& still going), in aim to visit Britain’s Least used station, Elton & Orston. Here’s how it started at Chatham this morning with the 9:28 @serailway.bsky.social service to St Pancras, then connected well at Kings Cross for the 10:33 @lner.co.uk service to Grantham.

The time is running out for these workhorses, SWR Class 455710 & 455871 Stand at London Waterloo this evening ready to work 1D53 1824 to Dorking. The Class 455s have been in regular passenger service for 42 years, since March 1983 and are due to be retired towards the end of January. (29/11/2025)

A great afternoon at the East Kent Railway yesterday doing the Class 73130 driver experience taster. Had never been inside a Class 73 cab before, let alone driven one. Certainly an interesting experience and was fun! Pic taken just before North Bank LC, while changing ends.

Took my first plane journey today ! London Gatwick to Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. Having a week away in Fuerteventura in the very warm sunshine with my family.

Class 73130 seen on the East Kent Railway Today… 73130 is a unquie locomotive, as it is the only remaining Class 73 to retain Scharfenberg couplers from its Eurostar days, between 1994 & 2007 it was used to rescue Eurostar trains in the rare occasion of a train failure. (11/10/2025)

The usual Thursday commute to Hollingbourne. The days are getting shorter, and sunrise is getting later, so quiet a bit of the journey is in the dark. Although the sunrise as I walk between Maidstone barracks & East is always a delight.
