At a recent Lab meeting, Madhavi Jain presented her research on urban heat modeling using WRF model at 500m resolution to predict urban air temperatures, incorporating building data to detect microclimates. Tests in NYC and Phoenix show improved accuracy when using urban canopy parameters.
