I'm still standing and slowly remembering how to both smile and write again. I'm having a good time splishy splashing in a nice cozy corner of the Hazbin fandom, and I'm even starting to outline my next book. But rejections are still pouring in & things are slow.There is no rushing through grief.

I have been swimming in grief and bad news, but I finally have something good to announce. My flash fiction piece, “The Drowning of Loki” will be published in the next issue of @icaruszine.bsky.social! @aprilrc.bsky.social thank you for telling me to channel my grief into it.

A friend of mine died earlier this week and I've not been okay. Doing my best to pull myself back together.

That awkward moment where your ability to do your day job hangs in the balance of a local election and your moonlighting job gives you non stop rejections and you feel your sanity slowly leaving your body so you just say FUCK IT and write fanfic. Anyway, have a cat.

Just got out of Beetlejuice! Wooops uh I wasn’t expecting to get emotional about grief. But that show was very good - very appropriate for Halloween, and very appropriate for Samhain (in my own strange view) Anyway, BEETLEBUBU BEETLEBUBU BEETLEBUBU!!!

To celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary today we are in front row of Beetlejuice on Broadway! So excited for the show!!! It’s definitely nerd central here and I love it! 🎃

Woke up at 5am to a rejection from an agent I really liked. Then I pulled myself out of bed, walked the dogs, and wrote a bit of my next book. Fuck this system. I will make it through.

It was a lovely weekend with my family, and I love my nieces and nephews so much. But the Loki flash fiction piece I'm working on is pushing me to new (and kinda scary) places. Still gonna do my best, but I think for tonight I need a break.

My weigh in on the controversy is that I am going to watch my little queer cartoon instead of wasting what precious time I have for joy and relaxation arguing about semantics over a shithead.

I am contemplating small presses. Does anyone have any suggestions on reliable ones to submit to? It's for an LGBTQ+ Historical/Folklore based Fantasy. I'm still doing the agent hunt, but just expanding my options! #writingcommunity

I’m 42 today and grateful for the wisdom to know when I need to slow down. Grief and trying to get a book published are a hell of a combination. Right now I have been taking solace in carving a goddess pole to Hel at my Viking camp. Things will happen as they are meant to.

It’s strange how fandoms roll in just when I need them most, ready to inspire me into the right dynamic for a pair in my books. And as I have learned in the last few weeks, life is too fucking short. I am past the point of being sorry or ashamed of it. Thank you, fandom muses.

I really could use some good book news. Having a confidence boost in my work would help me a lot. If I could manifest anything right now, that would be it. But otherwise I guess I’ll have to settle for manifesting getting up from under these cats and cleaning.

Grief sucks.

Hey everyone. Today after the week of grief, I found out about the death of someone I work with. There is a lot around it. I am not okay right now. But I am loved and I have support from my communities and family and friends. I have access to mental and spiritual care.

Monty and I are home safe. We visited my dad’s grave, told him about Cory and asked him to say sup. We also asked him to help my great Aunt Gina, because I am not ready to lose my name sake yet. Everything is different now. But I hope out of this horror show, community and family will prevail.

Found this half a fairy circle on the NJ Turnpike, and the Rick Roll song was playing at the rest stop. Look I just buried my brother in law and my name sake great aunt is in the hospital, I AM NOT TAKING CHANCES OKAY. Me and the dogs avoided it like the plague.

Need to take a moment to say, my brother in law passed away in a bike accident on Sunday. He had a wife and 4 kids. I have been working to get everything together for a week stay in MD, both physically and spiritually. I don’t have words yet. Hold your loved ones tight.

I had a magical weekend in Boston and am almost home. However, things have taken a very tragic turn. For those of you who have love or energy to spare, please send it.
