the crossbell chapter of cold steel 3 was... as good as could be reasonably expected. i have many objections but they're pretty futile at this point, and at least there's still some amount of non-stupid intrigue and politics going on in addition to the large amount of very stupid intrigue

when there's a big crisis in trails sc, the story becomes about reestablishing communications, people coming together, making sacrifices, the resulting international incident, and when there's one in cold steel 2 it becomes set dressing for mister "I MUST FACE MY RIVAL ITS MY DESTINY" main character
