As a writer I keep thinking okay, striking is effective at hitting the CEOs obviously but also it hits a whole lot of other people, too. I'm not arguing against it, just asking people to realize/acknowledge that people might actually go hungry from a strike (and it won't be the decision makers).

This is minor but it's humid enough my glass of ice water is sweating. Inside. In the AC. I can count on one hand that's happened in the past 30 years living here.

So I did a few cost comparisons off my grocery app because I've spent A LOT refilling our fridge and freezer this weekend. Since Dec/Jan time: Tea went from $11 to $15.50 for 100 bags. Ground beef went up $2 a pound. A half gallon of milk went from $2.60 to $5. But everything is fine here.

Dumb thing but it's the last week at the lake for us and I've figured out how to eat most of our food up so we don't have to take it home. I also have 4 dinners basically prepped ahead. This frees me up to boat and work all week. As a creative all this life stuff under control is super helpful.

I started adding up ads on instagram. I'd say 30-40%. Facebook is 100% repeat things. I might see 1 new post a day, and I have to go looking for it. Oh well I need to really cut down on social media anyway. In other news I read a big ole doorstopper fantasy in 5 days.

I'm using a pseudonym for my next book and it was hard to pick but I settled on the family name that we have tracked back to 1600s Scotland. Kinda to honor my Grannie who was one of my favorite people and the last of the generation under that name.

All this. I'll add that beta reading and slush piles are great intensive learning opportunities... better than only looking at your own work. Beta reading because you analyze and explain why something works or not, slush piles because of speed and volume.

Paid off the car today. Yes we only have one car. It generally works for us and another car is a huge expense we don't need.
