Last Wednesday at Simbithi the UVP Team joined forces with the Environmental Board and helpful residents to count our monkey troops on site. The work turned into a nice contribution and social event. We’re excited to welcome Vera Konst to UVP! 🐒 An MSc student at the University of Amsterdam, Vera will study play behaviour in Simbithi’s vervet monkeys, exploring how play changes across life stages and how it strengthens social bonds.

New UVP paper out! We examined the dietary composition of our urbanized monkeys, and in collaboration with @unil.bsky.social Prof. L. Fumagelli we were able to do so using metabarcoding methods and simultaneously evaluate the method with our observational data. Please find the work here ⬇
