I rounded out the final day of the primary campaign with a Meet and Greet at the Farmhouse Lounge in Weeping Water. Glad to be joined by Eric Moyer for Congress and Sarah Slattery for Nebraska Secretary of State in the final push before Election Day tomorrow.

I had a great meeting this morning with the folks over at CASA in Plattsmouth. The work they are doing is incredibly important in advocating for abused and neglected children in our community.

🗳️ Question of the Day❓ My motivation for running really comes from my upbringing. As somebody that grew up poor, I know what it is like to struggle. I worked a minimum-wage job in high school and have worked through college.

A phenomenal Letter to the Editor from Dianne Bystrom in today’s Lincoln Journal Star. Nebraskans have received the same broken promises to lower property taxes and make life more affordable for three decades. More of the same isn’t going to solve today’s challenges.

The Nebraska Legislature passed budget adjustments crafted by the Governor and Senator Clements on April 1. After cutting essential services including for the disabled and our veterans as well as raiding our savings in cash funds, the state came up with a surplus of $6 million.

Team Speed gathered on Sunday to wrap up our postcards for the May 12th primary. Households across District 2 have already received a postcard in the mail this week. A few voters even let us know they had gotten a postcard and were excited to cast their vote.
