RPG rule sets can't be copyrighted. The OGL doesn't exist to give people the ability to use the D&D rule set to create stuff. It exists to give people the illusion that WotC actually owns the rule set. WotC owns D&D lore stuff like Beholders, or Ravenloft etc. Not Rules.

@williamsrd.bsky.social I blame you for my rewatching the Dragonlance movie just so I could remember what the differences between the adaptations were. It's been a while, but it's just terrible. Trying to take 448 pages and squeeze them into 90 minutes... Yikes.

Canon is one of those funny things. Honestly, I can't think of a single multi-media franchise that has multiple continuities where I'm like YEAH, this one version did every single thing right.

My official D&D campaign setting tier list, obviously this doesn't count any third-party stuff, Midnight for instance from Fantasy Flight games would definitely be in S tier if we added third-party settings.

n Star Trek 2 the Genesis Device created a planet out of the Mutara Nebula, and later in Star Trek 3 the planet blew up because it was unstable. But how did the planet survive even the tiny time it was around without a star?

I've never understood the idea of remaking movies that were already good. It's good leave it alone... Now remaking a bad movie... that makes sense... there's room for improvement or a middling movie too I guess. Especially if the idea was good but the execution sucked.
