June 2026 marks a milestone in Lloyd’s Register’s global history: 140th anniversary of LR in Brazil. In Brazil, the first non-exclusive surveyor was appointed in Rio de Janeiro, 1886. This was followed by the first LR office opening in Bahia, 1888, appointing its first exclusive surveyor in 1896.
