I am very happy to have received a Junior Postdoc grant from @fwovlaanderen.bsky.social! Thanks to this grant, I will be able to continue my digital research on medieval fragments and manuscripts at the @uantwerpen.be for another three years.

Just now I idly wondered when the word 'fragmentology', and the discipline of 'Fragmentology', became popular, so I did a Google n-gram with interesting results. #fragmentology

A great piece on my PhD research was just published on ACU Impact (www.impact.acu.edu.au/global/from-...)! Menios Constantinou was a fantastic interviewer, and he made an engaging story from my responses. The piece gives an accessible summary of how I use Bayesian phylogenetics for text-criticism.

In addition to describing how I applied this approach to Ephesians, it details how my PhD research has led to further collaborations, including my recent work with @sofiemoors.bsky.social and my upcoming postdoc at @kuleuvenuniversity.bsky.social. Please give it a read!

This 15th-century Ghent fragment of Jacob van Maerlant’s Martijn Trilogy (KANTL. HS. 6) looks a bit weird - it is an exceptional example of writing out of text order on uncut sheets. But when you reconstruct it as a single-quire booklet, it all makes sense! www.instagram.com/reel/DRpYdoA...

I won't get to attend the conference in Luxembourg in person this December, but I hope that the paper is received well and generates further interest and discussion of how Bayesian phylogenetics can be fruitfully applied to textual traditions!
