Teen tried to shock me today by saying he might get a Mohawk. When I was unimpressed he said he would dye it green. Then that he'd get a piercing. He was rather disappointed when my responses to all of this were "sure, if you want". Now I worry I'm not giving him a safe outlet for teen rebellion.

There are occasional moments in life where I find myself wanting an esoteric bit of highly specialized information for a totally random purpose, and then I remember that I actually know someone who is an expert in that exact subfield, and they invariably come through. I love experts.
