I think it’s safe to say I’m not getting through these Tik Tok notifications today. Very sad to see this app go, not only because it’s my biggest platform but also as a consumer of the incredible content there. RIP to the best algo out there.

Pouring one out for TikTok. There are a lot of people, including queer and trans people, whose lives will be wrecked by the decision to ban it. It will also significantly reduce the ability of young queer people to see positive representations of themselves. It’s a sad day for many.

The Chronicle of Higher Ed has been tracking changes to DEI. Over 80 colleges have made changes (such as eliminating diversity statements or offices/roles) without any legal requirement to do so. The University of Florida reallocated $5 million away from DEI. None of this bodes well.
