Olga Pettersson from Uppsala gave a thought-provoking talk, tracing the genomic revolution and its paradigm shift. She emphasized the need for good non-model reference genomes and also highlighted the crucial role of core facilities in genome sequencing —two very strong messages! #RNGS25

Alexander Hoischen from @radboudumc.bsky.social presented impressive work demonstrating how PacBio HiFi reads aid in diagnosing rare diseases. Further, his work offers potential for diagnosing more patients in future. As someone who also works on a rare disease, this is truly inspiring! #rngs25

Starting off day 2 of #RNGS25 with another insightful talk by Oliver Stegle from @dkfz.bsky.social. He emphasized the importance of computational methods, tackling problems like cell segmentation in spatial data and multimodal integration. Look out for recent tools from his lab - Segger, PRIMSO.
