I need chocolate so bad right now thought yall should know.

The first of the tiger tikis emerged from the kiln. I've been having so much fun trying out glazes and playing with different looks. I'm hoping to have 12 for BLFC and a lot more of the monster tikis.

I've been underglazing all day and putting way too much detail into these. I still have a ways to go, but these will be the fanciest of the tigers. Lovingly hand-painted by a dragon that doesn't know how to keep it simple. I may attempt one or two more before BLFC.

Some more mugs are coming out of the kiln. I love the transformation that happens. My online shop is paused while I build up inventory for Blfc. There's going to be so much new and fun stuff that I'm making. Design by @mongrelist.bsky.social They and I have made such cool stuff together!

I'm always trying out new glazes and glaze combos. This batch of mushrooms looks like cupcakes to me. I can't wait to see what these glazes do.

A quick painting I did for my coworker who *loves* birds. Also plays Wingspan once a week. This is a Jambu fruit dove according to pinterest. Acrylic on paper, I made the frame a while back.

The last of the tumblers I threw a while back. I'm experimenting more with Mayco Stroke n' Coat glazes because of the color range, and it's interesting to see how they run. There's the clay body to factor in, the angle of the piece, if it's layered over other glazes, just so much tinkering to do.

This is the most skill/labor intensive part of mold making, the actual plaster casting. Yes I ise my bats as the mold shape; I hot glue them together, Reinforce things with clay and pour the plaster. Cleaning up the edges takes care and I hope I lined things up for a symmetrical mold.

Some small pieces are getting fired, this is the first time I'm using a red clay, so these will look a bit different than the usual ones I make.

The sculpt is ready for plaster.

SCB clay and speckled buff clay tumblers with stroke n' coat glazes. These will fire to cone 6, I hope they turn out.

I think I will do a few black light paintings. I just like the dimensionality of being able to view art in different ways. Here's a new wip!

My wolf tiki mug from @kenadragon.bsky.social arrived today! This is an amazing design I've had my eye on for a while. The textures give it a comfortable feeling in the hand. I also won a yeti cooler in a raffle at work. Kaiju and Titan approved. The weekend is off to a great start!

This is Amaco's Dark star glaze with Laguna lavender filigree on the rim. Both are super runny glazes so the filigree ran in long lines. Dark star and the rest of the cosmos series is often overlooked because they are gassy glazes, but they are great for planters, plates, and decorative things.

This Friday I'll be dropping some stuff in my shop. This is the LAST wolf tiki of this mold, time to start something new.

Glaze test of some Ritual Glazes I ordered a few weeks ago. Green gloop, orange crawl, black bead, and red gloss. They do different things over different glazes too. Also Laguna lavender filigree, matte pink, brilliant sunburn, and Amaco Supernova. All over amaco velvet underglazes.

Exciting update in the works! I’ve been wanting to improve on the paw mugs for a little bit, and after some sculpting and molding, I’m super pleased w/ the new version! These also will have a wider foot so they’re less tippy! I’ll be bringing the new version to AC along w/the last of the older ones.

I'm getting ready for Pride this year! Lots of color mixing and matching.

Glaze test a success! Mayco Stroke n coat and Duncan concepts on speckled buff, and Amaco hf white on the inside. I'm going to debut this one at a local pride event, but now I can make a bunch more. Eventually I'll have some in my shop.

This won't mean much to most folks, but I got some old clay someone dropped off at the studio, and one of the dried blocks is grogzilla. It's the groggiest clay I know of, pretty brutal to throw with, but is made to be used in Shigaraki style pottery. It's so fun to nerd out on clay.

The rest of this batch of animal mugs are complete. I have new mugs waiting to get painted with more delightful critters. Yes, I'm getting closer to having stuff online for sale. Soon my friends.

Here's another batch of greenware waiting to get fired. There's the tiki mugs, cups, and new espresso cups! We will see how much they hold after firing. Today I shall throw either 1 lb mug bodies or tiny little mini mugs.

I'm discovering and developing a few different styles and glaze combos for this design. I take clay type, clay color, glaze qualities, and how the glaze "blushes" next to bare clay among other aspects.

Another mug done! This one is 5" tall, soon to be shown off at a convention. My full time job has me working a bit slower than I'd like, I can't get these mugs out fast enough.

This guy came out of the kiln today, Amaco Chai Gloss on speckled buff clay. A little too bland for my tastes, but maybe someone will like it.

Here's where I do my messy garage pottery. The delicate painting and non-dust making stuff I work on inside. I miss having a large dedicated studio, it was slightly less chaotic.

Hey there, mental health is pretty bad, not gonna be around for a bit.

This is a sneak peek at a new mold I finished. I poured 5 plaster pieces for it and it's so much effort and lots of messy steps. I'm glad it's nearly done and all I need to do is clean some edges, wipe it down, and let it dry.

2.5 hours for this small acrylic painting. It's a Christmas gift, I don't think I've ever painted an elephant before.

I made this dragon horn in 2018 and finally decided to glaze it. This is Solar Rainbow by Amaco, 3 coats with less layers near the base to counteract running.

I got some mugs back from the latest bisque firing today. This is Laguna speckled buff clay; the speckles will show through during the glaze firing. I'm thinking I'll do more greens and blues on these.

I worked on some commission pieces, reached a good stopping point, but got too antsy to work on anything non-ceramic so I finished underglazing some eye tiles. I might turn them into pins or magnets, not sure yet. Maybe I should clear glaze the actual eyeballs so they look wet.

I got the hot glue urge out of my system.

Today I gave a slipcasting demo for a friend. It's a messy process and each tiki mug I make is carefully hand made and a one of a kind work of art.
