So I got the instagram handle @quotatelle because quotidianbagatelle would just be too long and now I’m thinking, would Quotatelle be a better name altogether..?

The worst thing about this name “Quotidian Bagatelle” is that I’ve already written “Bagalette” instead of “Bagatelle” eight times… I’m starting to drive myself crazy, questioning myself every time I type it out… 😵‍💫

Obviously, a baguette in quotes felt like the obvious—the only—option for a logo.

Since Bagatelle on its own didn’t feel like enough, I started thinking about Bagatelle Press or Bagatelle Daily, but didn’t like those. But Quotidian adds to a sort of fake pretentious feeling alongside Bagatelle, while meaning the ordinary of everyday life.

When I first had the idea for a micro imprint, I went searching for words that would have a similar vibe to “foofaraw.” Initially thought “trifle” would be suitable, then came across “bagatelle,” a French word for a trifle or something of little importance. It also refers to a short lite
