The pricey bit will be replacing the shoes. We talked about me possibly seeing a PT or podiatrist to see if there's a reason my shoes wear down the way they do. I'm kinda annoyed no one makes those slip on sneakers for narrower feet.

So occupational therapist visited to check my environment and what needed to be changed/adjusted. A friend gave me a shower bench to use so the OT showed me how use it and not flood the bathroom. I need to get a grabber device so I'm not bending as much. Thankfully they're not too expensive.

Question for academic-sky: in an essay I'm writing, I make reference to the practice of "reading against the grain" in historic sources. I'd like to cite whoever originated that phrase but (due to a lack of formal historian training) I'm having a hard time tracing it. Any help?

I think a lot about the story Carl Reiner told: he’d have been a sewing machine repairman if not for a free WPA drama class. Is setting up a gofundme a good idea or will people think I'm just lazy? Three months when I can barely move...

To update, I had what is called a compression burst fracture. It needs time to heal, three months at least. Mostly recommend pain management and heat/cold. Obviously the worst possible timing for me, health insurance and financially.

I was not prepared for the pain today.

Home. Home health coming tomorrow to sort out my after care. Not sure how I'm going to deal with this financially.

I'm... going... home. I'll have some home heath pt visits. I need to get Medicaid squared away.

For those that missed Saturday I took a spill on the street and fractured my L3. I was admitted to a hospital room t9 manage my pain.

I am awake. My pain is a little better but I am grateful for modern medicine. Slept a bit last night.
