For anyone playing Final Fantasy Tactics for the first time, you should check this out. Otherwise you might have a bunch of characters missing or getting bad rng for seemingly no reason. There is an in-game tutorial that explains this stuff, but I found it to be pretty boring.

I recently had my desktop PC die and I had to setup the new one. Whenever you need to setup a new PC Ninite is a great time saver. You pick common apps like browsers, free Office software, Steam, and other common apps, and it gives you a single installer that will add them all.

I feel like companies are losing faith in LRG, and with all of the issues they've had, it's easy to see why. Maybe games like this are all they can get anymore.

Earlier in the year a friend of mine recommended the Zelda randomizer, and I love this thing. There's a lot of customization, and once you find the settings you like, you can make as many runs of it as you want. The new dialogue is fun too.

Does anyone know if the version of Super Mario Galaxy that's bundled into the 1&2 collection is any different than the one in Super Mario 3D Allstars? If they upgraded it in some way I might pick it up, but otherwise I'd just get Galaxy 2 digitally (on sale though, $40 is a bit much imo).

I can't say that I'm surprised by this. Gears Ultimate may have been a decade ago, but the graphical fidelity wasn't bad at all. Honestly unless you put the two side by side I don't think I could tell the difference. $40 for essentially the same game is a lot to ask in 2025.

Is there a good, free, MP3 utility that will append the track number to the file name if they are tagged properly? My MP3 player wants to play them in alphabetical order.

This is actually pretty cool! In using it with the RP Mini, but all I had to do was clip it, and connect the wire and it just worked. I fiddled with Drastic's settings a bit and then boom! HD DS 😁

I haven't used it yet, but the Retroid clip on screen just arrived! You can clip it on to a Retroid Pocket handheld and play DS games with dedicated screens. It looks kind of funky, but I don't mind lol.

Kirby's Dreamland 2 DX is tonight's retro game. I really like the colorization on this one.

We went to a Chicago Stars game this afternoon. It was beautiful out, and they usually play in Bridgeview, but this was at Northwestern, so we had a nice view of the lake on the left, the game on the right, and it's hard to see in the photo, but you can see the skyline just right of the screen.

Parody World is a variation of Monster Party with the original bosses intact. Most are parodies of movies like this one from Planet of the Apes. In Monster Party this boss is a pumpkin-headed ghost.

I would leave a store if I saw this. If I get a text and respond to it in a store, I don't want to be swarmed by employees asking if I'm on Price Charting. You need to trust your customers to some extent, and if your prices are so high that no one's buying anything, that's the store's problem.

I'm looking forward to seeing how much money Silksong makes by the end of the weekend. By my count it looks like well over $10 million on Steam alone, just today, in the hours it's been available. By the end of the weekend, with consoles and other platforms like GOG, ...it might break records.

I watched the first two episodes of The Paper, and it's not bad. As long as you don't go in expecting it to be as good as or better than The Office at its peak you'll probably enjoy it. There are references to The Office, but they aren't excessive and feel natural in the moment.

I'm back on Final Fantasy 3/6 and it's been at least 2-3 years since I've played through it, but sometimes it just pulls me in. I'm also midway through a Final Fantasy 2/4 playthrough, but I'm taking my time with that one.

Re-watching V for Vendetta and it's kind of messed up how even the Fingermen in the beginning show id and their faces unlike ice.

Was the PSP version of Lemmings the last one to come out?

My Vita's battery hasn't charged to a full 100% for quite a while and I hope someday we have a better alternative to play Vita games as the hardware ages. Vita 3K is great for what it is, but I'm hoping that someday there will be a 100% compatible Vita solution.

I was not aware that the government could just take management of a train station away from the company that runs it.

A system is only as good as the games that are available for it and it feels like the Switch 2 is leaning a lot on the back catalog of the Switch 1. But it will never stand on its own if the only games it has are first party or re-releases. That was fine at launch, but we're a few months in now.

Shake N' Bake doesn't come with plastic bags anymore. Hot Pockets don't come with crisping sleeves anymore. Companies trying to maximize their profit margins through omissions like this or shrinkflation usually just make me go to the store brands which sometimes still include these little things.

I haven't played 80 Days yet, but Overboard is great! You are on a ship and trying to get away with murder. The game loops and you can make different choices every loop and try again. The loops are short too, so it's a great game for busy adults with limited gaming time.
