I was sick over the weekend and ended up playing Like a Dragon a lot more than I planned to. So I'm already on chapter 13 😂. Maybe I'll try to sneak another Yakuza game in over the next few weeks.

The lie itself is offensive enough, but it's also ignoring the fact that there are multiple video clips that we've already seen! I'm sure they're targeting boomers who haven't seen it and still think they can trust the news which is depressing because the evidence that this is a lie is everywhere.

That Nintendo year in review thing has a timeline at the end with every Switch game you've ever played by date. My Switch was a wedding present from my wife which I got on that day, so I already know exactly what date I started playing Switch and what game it was, but it was a nice reminder.

The two GameStops nearest to me are closing. Honestly I'm surprised it took this long. GameStop had a lot of problems, but at the same time I don't like that there is only one game shop in my area left (a Disc Replay).

I only have a few weeks until Yakuza Kiwami 3 comes out and I know that's going to consume all my gaming time (at least until RE9 comes out a few weeks after that). So I've shelved all my gaming plans to squeeze in a playthrough of Like A Dragon. I forgot how much I love this one. Nancy is the best!

I haven't played the original MegaMan in a while. 2 gets all the love, but the first is still really good, especially the music.

As great as Avengers movies are in theaters, this is one I'd like to watch at home. Being able to pause, stretch, not fight people for the bathroom or possibly miss something good, etc... If they want people back in theaters, 4-hour run times aren't the way.

Reset Collection is an Android front end for retro games with a very clean menu that has boxart, a logo, a description, and backdrop for each game. It scrapes everything automatically but you can adjust any of them if it scrapes them incorrectly or you just don't like the assets.

Started watching Sakamoto Days, and it's just the kind of show I need right now. It's got a lot of action, but also a lot of light hearted levity (so far at least, I've only watched a few episodes).

First (unintentional?) game completion of 2026 is Adventures in the Magic Kingdom which is a short game, but it's Capcom in their NES era. There are levels based on Disney rides, and Disney trivia. It's a fun game which is why I keep coming back to it.

The Anbernic RGDS is kind of funny in the sense that it's the first Anbernic Android handheld that can remember the Switch/Xbox button setting out of the box, but also the only one that I don't need to change it on since I only play DS games on it.

This might be the first year ever that I don't catch myself writing the previous year's date on things at work. 2025 is gone, it was a pretty awful year, and I'm glad to have moved on from it.

My only gaming goal is to get through the games I'm currently playing before Yakuza 3's remake and Resident Evil 9 come out in February. It's been a very long time since I've had multiple games I'm excited about releasing in the same month, and I'm really looking forward to February.

I woke up to find out that I got paid a day early because of the holidays. It's a small win, but this is a nice way to start the new year.

Nintendo loves remakes, and I'd like to see Super Mario Land remade in either a cartoon style that matches the cover art, or even something like the Link's Awakening remake. Really I just want to play submarine and other vehicle levels again.

Yesterday there was a point where it was 60°F (15.5°C) and it rained a lot. So this morning it's extremely windy, and snowing hard, and 14°F (-10°C) which is made so much worse by how warm it just was. How do you not get sick in weather like this? I'm taking immune boosters and vitamins.

I've been meaning to get to this for a while, but I'm finally watching the second half of In Search of Darkness' 90s horror documentary. I've been looking forward to this for weeks.

The Hori Fighting Commander controller works with SF6 on Switch 2. I grew up playing Street Fighter 2 on the Genesis with a 6-button controller, so I'm very happy to have a d-pad and 6 face buttons again. It's great for Capcom's fighting game collections too.

I used it to get the Dragon Quest I & II remake for $30 while it's still on sale. There's such a comforting quality to DQ games, it seems like a nice game to play this winter. On top of that it looks beautiful. Thanks for the suggestions.

When I went to rip the MCIS 30th Anniversary CD set, the bonus discs get recognized for what they are, but the original two discs were identified and tagged as the 2012 remaster. That's probably what they are since they were already remastered, but it feels strange buying a re-issue of a re-issue.

I used to feel old when albums I listened to in high school got 25 year anniversaries. Now they're into 30 year anniversaries and it makes my head spin.

I've been re-playing Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, and for as much love as the Final Fantasy series (rightfully) gets, Squaresoft was bringing their A-game across the board in the 90s. It's really impressive how well these games hold up.

I'm playing Blasphemous 2 tonight which is probably not a good Christmas game, but it's become sort of a comfort game over time. I have kind of a love/hate relationship with it, and I definitely prefer the first Blasphemous, but when I'm in the mood, it's perfect.

Back from the third and final Christmas event of 2025. I am wiped out and will sleep well tonight. My brother got me an amazing gift and I'll post a video of it tomorrow.

Back from Christmas at my in-laws. My FIL kept feeding our dog which I didn't mind until he let her lick a plate that had a brownie on it. I don't know who needs to hear this, but don't feed dogs chocolate. No raisins or grapes either.
