On this date in 1912, Chief Justice Marshall's great-niece became the 1st woman selected in the primaries for the Cal. Superior Court. She lost, but 100s of other women served as judges in the surrounding decades. They've mostly been forgotten... until now. ssrn.com/abstract=544...
