Rewatching ST Discovery Season 3. Episode when Philippa Georgiou meets Carl, the Guardian of Forever, and crosses the threshold to the Mirror Universe. Carl makes me think a lot of Jenkins, in the Librarians. The language, manners and gestures. Maybe it comes with the profession of guarding forever.

Worked hard over the last days to sew a mid-18th Century corset, totally boned (86!!!). Made with a slightly modified JPRyan sewing pattern, partly sewn by machine and partly by hand. Made of linen, with buckram interlining. Made it with front lacing because chambermaids are pretty hard to find.

Rewatching Star Trek TNG episode "Half a Life" with the amazing David Ogden Stiers and Majel Barrett. I'll be 60 next year. It hits closer to home than expected.

I rewatched tonight Star Trek Discovery. I love that show so much... I hope to see as many of the original actors as guest stars in the upcoming series Star Trek Academy. They are all dear to my heart.

My son Minty brought me back a wonderful present from the Everfree convention. A sleeping mask featuring Fluttershy eyes, from the amazing boutique of artist Gleamy. What a beautiful mask! I love Fluttershy so much!!! Now, with the mask, I can give people "the stare", just like Fluttershy!

OMG! It's been a long time since I laughed outloud like this, until my ribcage hurted. Tonight's Strange New Worlds was hilarious. I don't care if it's canon or not, or if Gene Roddenberry would have approved the episode. It was funny like hell and I enjoyed it!!! Superb performance of the actors!

I watch Star Trek in English, with the English subtitles. It helps me follow the dialogue. Last week, I noticed that in Voyager, when the Doctor speaks, the person in charge of the subtitles identifies him as "Zimmerman". Just like in TNG, when O'Brien is already identified on the first episode.

Currently watching old Battlestar Galactica episodes. How funny to see how much the period at which it was filmed reflected on the clothing and decor. Episode on Equellus featured a woman wearing clothes highly reminiscent of Laura Ashley fashion. I'll never stop loving scifi.

I finished today a small 1830 bonnet project. Made of cotton lawn and cotton entredeux. Entirely sewn by hand (without any sewing machine). Pattern is #11 from Auntie Keebie's Caps. The shirring around the crown as well as the front ruffle were made using the traditional needle wrapping method.

It was a beautiful finale for Resident Alien. All that love... I will miss dearly this excellent series. I was lucky enough to see Alan Tudyk last year at the ComicCon. He's awesome, a very charming man. I hope he'll get new filming projects soon.

Currently re-watching TNG "Ship in a bottle". It would have been nice to offer closure to Dr. Pulaski just by a simple sentence from Moriarty: "Where's that delightful doctor to whom I served tea and crumpets many years ago"? We could have learned what had happened to her after leaving Enterprise.

Another historical sewing project completed. A cotton chintz printed petticoat like those worn around 1750. Entirely sewn by hand (without a sewing machine). It has slits on both sides (to access the pockets which are on a separate twill tape). The fabric is modern but with patterns like in 1750.

Tonight it's a rerun of the Star Trek TOS "The Menagerie". I've stopped counting how many times I've seen this 2-part episode since my childhood. However, one can never see this episode with the same eye once you've seen Star Trek Strange New Worlds. Spock's loyalty is perfectly understandable. 🖖

I am still very annoyed by this marketing idea of adding an ad banner at the bottom of screen during the opening credits of a TV program. It hides the name of the actors, special guests, producers and workers. It's a total lack of respect for the artists. AI is NOT the only problem of the industry.

I did my duty and voted today. I chose to vote strategically instead of for my usual party. Unfortunately, the candidate was totally unknown so I couldn't vote for him. So I voted consequently to make sure that the two well-known candidates don't win.

That's weird. Was watching The Librarians and the bleeding crown and the scene where they are put in some torture booths features the same exact visual effect than when Michael Burnham was put in the agonizing booth in Star Trek Discovery episodes Terra Firma. Exact same colours of the "flames".

That's funny. Currently watching ST TNG episode "The Big Goodbye". When Data does research on the character Dixon Hill, we can clearly see on his computer monitor that the texts of the books are signed by author "Tracy Tormé", who was indeed the writer of the episode. A very thoughtful Easter Egg.

That's weird. Rewatching ST TNG Encounter at Farpoint for the Xth time. Just noticed that in the first part, Captain Picard calls Deanna Troi "Commander". In later episodes, it is said that she has the rank of "Lieutenant Commander". So, why the demotion?
