Glad to see Newcastle United and Mike Tomlin trending on Bluesky. I thought sports talk would be slower to move here, since folks might be less concerned about what's happening on the other platform. So it's nice that I may no longer need to go there to see how people react to breaking sports news.

OK but: What are generative large language models—"AI," I guess—actually *for*? Trying to figure that out is why @tedunderwood.me's work interests me. He's trying to use these things' facility with language to understand language itself, and literature. It's neat!
