You know what RPG I would 100% be championing if I had found it as a teenager? Palladium Fantasy 1e. It is so so "My AD&D rules" and we would absolutely have been taken by it if we had gotten a copy.

The strangest "American meets a European" interaction I ever did have was a guy asking me if I owned a sword. Not in a "oh wouldnt it be weird" way but in a "dude is stoked to see a sword". Ive never regretted my lack of sword owning more.

People talk a lot about what you can learn from tabletop games. I think for me, the main skill has absolutely just been the realisation that anyone can sit down to try and make things. Im sure people have the same experience with music or other things. But for me, tabletop was where I realised ..
