Really pleased to have kept the promise I made during our workshop at EFIC (
@maitevdm.bsky.social
,
@head-like-egg.bsky.social
), and our work on the stability of pain habituation/sensitisation, and the underlying neural mechanisms. A long way to go, and a deep field of study.

I'm putting together a wellness course at Queens with
@querbylab.bsky.social
. One of the best things about doing it is reviewing a lot of great wellness content, like this Ted Talk by my graduate advisor.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

In this morning's lab meeting we discussed this important paper showing that people living with chronic pain have greater mental health needs, are less likely to seek treatment for mental health, and are less likely to benefit from treatment. We need to do better!!
