I’ve been covering Chaco Canyon for years. This was 2019 before Deb Haaland was Interior Secretary. I’ve never gone inside Chaco. This is how close I would allow myself to go. Next wk, I’ll be doing a presentation for a group of college students on my environmental reporting over the years.

... and spouse opened the door of our 380sqft living space and somehow knocked down and open the bear spray by the door. The dogs are safe in the car and we are standing outside while the fan is on in the doorway. New experiences every day!

We had an unusual but very welcome July rain today! People think of Western Washington as rainy — and it is, October through May. July/August/September might see a couple cloudbursts for the whole span. Not much accumulation, but it smells wonderful!
