Today the 10th classes of the Ballenstedt gymnasium visited us at @leibnizipk.bsky.social to learn new things about Chromosomes and Genome editing of crops. Two lectures and four lab presentations made my day :-) it is good to see interested young people.

Our new publication about the two-component system in barley is now public available and gives an overview about all high-confident genes which are involved in this signaling system with a special focus on grain development. bmcplantbiol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10....

Today I gave a lecture for school students of the 12. class at the Wolterstorff-Gymnasium in Ballenstedt about genome editing in crops. It was very nice to go back to the old school of my grandfather.
