I'm not even expecting people to like it or say it's great, I just want some engagement! Some sign that says "oh another human being took time of their day to play this thing!" And if they hate it or think it's boring, to just say something!!!

I mean, it's nice that everyone's trying to come together and all, but if no one's playing the game, then what's the point of putting it out there? I can just keep it fro myself. It just saves a lot of grief, I think.

And then I just feel stupid, because of course why would some stranger on the internet care? How many of the game dev accounts that follow this blog are people that are actually curious about my game, and not just people trying to network in some way?

Guess how many downloads I got that day. Guess how many views. Guess how many times I was asked again about it. If you guessed 0 for all them, then congrats, you're on point

I sometimes think of this artist I supported back in the day, and how he said he valued my engagement, and when I told him I was making a video game he said "oh cool, you'll have to share it!" and I was like "yeah, I have a demo already! Go to my account and you can see it!"

I mean, I don't owe anyone money. There is nobody getting ripped off. And all the lack of engagement does is just make me feel sad. Maybe it is fine just to create things for yourself or your friends, because at least it will be something you can share with people you trust and care about.

Maybe it's the lack of any proper sleep for a entire week speaking, but maybe I don't have to publish this video-game. Maybe I can just continue working on it for me, because it makes the brain go brrr when all the code comes together and the funny fellas I made up move around and have adventures
