Time to write a thread on asexuality and trauma. Some people reading this might disagree, or might struggle with the things I’m putting forward. That’s okay. This is MY experience specifically of how my understanding of my own asexuality changed as my understanding of my own trauma changed.

I'm trying to teach myself to be in love with the world around me. Not the gentle, happy love but truly learning to look at every person and everything as something beautiful, as a form of poetry and with a mysticism I will never really understand and don't truly need to in order to appreciate.

I have been reading a couple of thrillers lately, which is often outside of my usual reading zone, and I'm actually having a lot of fun! Note to self: change things up more often!

A writing day is rewarded by an afternoon watching x-men films. As you all can tell, my party lifestyle is up there with the best of them. I even have a dressing gown. Who said writing wasn't rock n roll?

I'm trying to focus on consistency rather than wordcount at the moment and it's really interesting. I'm only getting around 500 words per day, but I'm doing it EVERY day and that quickly adds up!

I don't believe in 'new year, new me'. I pretty much wake up every morning a new, unpredictable me. But I do want to spend so much more time with things I love this year. Be joyfully, spitefully happy and don't let the world grind you down!

I've been re-reading a lot of books I haven't read for years again lately, and the interesting part of my memory being so bad is that I notice all of a sudden why I liked them. What I connected with. I wonder if I'll do that in a few years with what I'm reading now?

I miss having writers ALL around me. Where are we all hiding? Where are my dark fantasy/horror queers?

The book I'm working on has been through a lot of changes, but each time I hope it gets better, clearer, and more 'me'. I haven't queried for a while because I want to be happy with the things I DO share with the world.

I don't interact with people on posts or comment much. As an actual fact, my feed on all social medias ends up huge and exhausting. Please know I still love what you're putting out there, even if I haven't 'liked' it in a while! I'm just a tired gremlin!

I want to find that spark of creativity in myself again, but it feels as though everything creative I do becomes a large, long-term endeavour rather than just a silly little thing. Another task on the to do list, not fun :/

Returning after a holiday is always weird. I'm in the twilight zone of existing and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I'm realising how much I miss the London glam metal scene now I'm no longer in it. I'm old and tired but please let me find my bff on the London Underground at 2am and get refused entry to the only place open because I have a babyface.
