in many ways Aiyana IS Teen Vogue and Teen Vogue is Aiyana. The idea that she was laid off today is painful to even fathom. Please follow her and offer her everything.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members. At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.

Teen Vogue changed my life and their politics team was doing incredible journalism comparable to very little other publications. I can't say I'm not disappointed with this decision. Sending y'all love❤️

Alli Maloney, @leximcmenamin.com + @satansjacuzzi.bsky.social were forces of nature who made the politics section what it was Conde mostly saw us as a thorn in their side + underinvested in TV overall, repeatedly slashing budgets, not backfilling roles + now folding TV into Vogue. It's a damn shame

Teen Vogue took young people seriously. It's impossible to overstate how important, how rare, and how profoundly needed that is.

Really at a loss for words….incredibly sad day for journalism and this incredible team. They made Teen Vogue what it is.

The loss of the politics staff at Teen Vogue is an absolute travesty. In a media marketplace that has been decimated by billionaires, tepid takes, and AI slop, Teen Vogue often stood out as a bastion of principled, purposeful journalism.

The gutting of Teen Vogue, a publication which dared to treat its readers seriously and with respect, is an especially dispiriting day in old media's long, self-destructive forced march to nowhere

Don't have quite the right words but devastated for the brilliant people who made Teen Vogue what it was, selfishly devastated as a freelancer and columnist, and devastated for readers, who deserve the kind of work Teen Vogue published.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day. certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
