the incest taboo historically has never been about preventing harm but rather about preserving patriarchal family structures. people who make poorly constructed arguments today to defend the prohibition of consensual incest are simply attempting to preserve patriarchy

also most people in modern society know this and will just opt to adopt a child if they want one instead, and not go through a pregnancy like that. there's really not a very good reason why it's illegal asides from the ruling class doesn't like it.

the only reason people are against it is cause it's icky and bad and a cultural taboo, not really for any material reason. the only "good" argument is that it can fuck with genetics of any potential children and make them kinda disabled, but people give birth to disabled children all the time.

the state should have no right to legislate matters surrounding relationships between consenting adults, and that applies in all cases, including incest. we don't allow them to prosecute homosexual sexual acts anymore, i don't see how this is less "immoral" than those were.
