Three years ago, we organized our first big community Ultimate event with TOP. Over the course of 6 days we raised $56,404 dollars. We haven't finished day 4 and have already surpassed that amount for @gamesforloveorg.bsky.social . I'm so proud of this community.

Doing some pretty important stuff today

The MogTalk podcast is going through a redesign. It's something I've wanted to do since I've educated myself on some production and obs stuff for the World Race. The plan is to come back and talk about indepth FFXIV topics where experts explain things to an idiot (me).

It was great talking to all the teams and world race community members from the CN side. With all that is going on, it's so refreshing to be able to talk to other passionate gamers around the world, connecting on something with both love.

It's incredible how much time I have dedicated to competitive high end MMO raiding, while myself barely even having the time to raid anymore. But I do believe it's an important part of FFXIV. Without it, I really don't know where this game would be.

Why do I have the feeling I'm being talked to?

This weekend MogTalk FINALLY returns to discuss the live letter and patch 7.4 with @kiwicattv.bsky.social @slyakagreyfox.bsky.social & @jettskylar.bsky.social!

MogTalk will be covering the upcoming Savage Race as normal on January 6th! Soon we will start reaching out the community and players for those that want to be involved. We are staying tuned to find out how to involve new regions catching up with global release as well!

Still working out a ton of things... pardon all the testing stuff... I've spent months learning and navigating the webdev world. Won't have a lot out of the gate functionality wise, but should be a more solid foundation for everything MogTalk and the FFXIV World Race.

Man getting into web development is such an intimidating endeavor. I feel like going into a hardware store with an idea, looking at a billion options, and tools I don't know the name of - and a robot keeps asking me if I need help, but it's an evil robot I'm supposed to say no to

Third time's the /charm! Pardon our Firmament dust as we get the website updated for year 3.0 happening on October 17 & 18, 2026 back at the St. Charles Convention Center! As mentioned prior, we'll be using only the lower level this time as we find our break even point. More news to come!

Last night I picked up my cat from the emergency vet (he swiped one of my dogs pain meds from his bowl which we found out is extremely toxic), total vet bill was $4000. He seems to be okay, but when he got home the vet said to unwrap his IV bandage. That was a mistake - TW: Blood

Guys sorry I've been pretty unresponsive. A lot of life stuff has come up to manage and any free time is immediately sunk into redoing the MogTalk website to try to have phase 1 beta ready by the time the world race starts.

I keep thinking "what if I program myself into a hole" - but honestly it is probably more important to make something, and figure it out later instead of freezing up on making the "best" decision. Even if you have to fix something, at least you have something in the first place.

Programming is hard. I write some code, feel good about it, then while writing some more code realize what I wrote before doesn't work anymore and have to rewrite it. It's such a vicious loop. Every big progress step turns into a small step. But at least there's steps...

I'm working to completely remake the MogTalk website by personally coding it. I'm both excited and exhausted about it... It's important to me to have a tool to handle the projects I want to bring to life and this website is a part of it. I'm a webdev newb, but I'll try my best

Everyone needs to make money, and to create content as a career requires knowing how to properly monetize creativity. If you can't figure that out, you may lose all creativity and find yourself in a depressing inescapable spiral of chasing the bag. Few do it well, I couldn't.

Most of the people who give me energy and help me stay positive you'll never know. There's a lot of really awesome people and most of them aren't on social media front page. Without them, I would have stopped long ago. I'm sure you have people like that too, appreciate them.
