Something I learned while spending so much time with my father in law: The stories don't get old when you only halfway listen to them. You learn a new detail every time they're told.

Decided to make a comfort breakfast. Shrimp and grits with scrambled eggs. For the shrimp part, I sautéed them with onions, celery and bell pepper (it comes chopped and frozen in a bag) in butter and chili crisp. Then I added a bit of cornstarch and water to make a gravy.

My grandma just died today. I swear my emotions have manifested as body aches. I'm hurting all over.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more from her!
