“The Truth shall set you free.” A colleague invoked this William Penn quote to justify opposing a resolution recognizing Maternal Health Awareness. Her objection? The resolution included birthing people. She voted against a good idea simply because it was inclusive.

While Gov. Shapiro's #PABudget address included larger initiatives like data centers and transit funding, my focus remains on helping everyday people in Northeast Philadelphia and the River Wards with higher wages, affordable child care, and putting money back in their pockets.

February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the invaluable contributions and achievements of Black Americans. We must also recognize the barriers of racism the Black community has faced for far too long and continue to address them. Let us celebrate but also work to forge a brighter future.

MAGA Cuts Hurt Kids // MAJORITY POLICY POINT

School District of Philadelphia has released its Facilities Master Plan to address several issues including under- and over-enrollment at many of the district's facilities citywide, strengthening programming, reducing transitions, and reinvesting in Neighborhood High Schools as community anchors.

Real public safety builds trust, not fear. I am proud to join my colleagues in supporting bills that focus on making our immigrant neighbors, and all of us, safer.

We must never forget the human atrocity that was the Holocaust and the innocent lives that were ended from it. Millions of Jewish individuals were murdered and tortured simply for their faith and background.

ACCT Philly is Philadelphia’s largest animal care and control provider, assisting nearly 18,000 animals and residents each year. As a member of ACCT’s board, and a proud pet owner, I was proud to help secure this funding which will allow them to continue their great work in caring for these animals.

In 2025, I was proud to support important legislation on issues that would improve the lives of our neighbors here in Lower Northeast Philadelphia and the Riverwards. I look forward to continuing to support these efforts this year!
