On this day in 1974: After just a few months of permanent Daylight Saving Time, Utah opposed it by almost 2-to-1. Standard Time is the only permanent clock to last.

On this day in 1974: Editors of the “Anchorage Daily Times” join the National School Boards Association in opposing permanent Daylight Saving Time.
