Reminder: Not only did President Trump give a $75 billion blank check to ICE in the Big Ugly Law, he also did so at the expense of the American people – cutting billions in funding to SNAP for families to put food on the table.

On January 29th, 2025, 67 people tragically lost their lives in a fatal midair collision between a commercial flight and a Blackhawk just outside DCA. Congress is now taking up the ALERT Act to improve aviation safety and ensure this tragic accident doesn’t happen again.

If we want to thank TSA, FEMA, the Coast Guard, and the many hard-working federal workers who serve our community, we should pay them.

Two years ago, the devastating collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge changed the lives and livelihoods of so many. Today, we remember the six construction workers who tragically lost their lives while simply doing their jobs: Alejandro, Dorlian, Maynor, Carlos, Miguel, and José.

I hear from neighbors nearly every day that the cost of living is just too high – especially when it comes to their BGE bills. Frankly, I feel it too - my BGE bill was a whopping $840 last month.

23 years ago, the Maryland Military Installation Council was formed to identify the infrastructure and community supports necessary to develop and expand our state’s crucial military installations – and MMIC has played a critical role in supporting our installations ever since.

Rather than working to find a bipartisan solution to paying hardworking TSA agents, the Trump Administration has deployed ICE agents to run our airports. Currently, there are no ICE agents at BWI.

As the President threatens our longest-standing and successful global alliances, it has never been more important for Congress to reaffirm our commitment to our NATO allies.

I just left a meeting & tour of ICE Baltimore to conduct oversight of the facility. We covered many of the critical issues that you brought to our team, including: access to an attorney, access to medication & menstrual products, safety concerns, detaining people with no criminal records & more.
