Writers from #Kentucky feature prominently in Issues II and III. I’m grateful to Crystal Wilkinson, Frank X. Walker, and Silas House for the visibility they’ve brought to our magazine. Can’t wait to read more when we open for submissions again in March.

I do prefer the etymology of “redneck” that stems from the West Virginia mine wars rather than the derogatory term for white yeoman farmers and their sunburns. #solidarity and class consciousness are so much cooler than poverty porn, classism, and racism.

Sometimes you don’t even need to write the poem.
