I'm not paying to add a comment, but I was going to tell @pierisim.bsky.social that marketplace content might be less controversial if it was, at the very least, on par with the price of EA content (or cheaper). 4 dollars for 11 items. Compared to a kit, at 5 for ~25, that's 1.8x more expensive.

At this point, there's very little in the way of "stuff" that earlier games had that SIms 4 doesn't, and there's bucketfulls of things Sims 4 has that they didnt

I think a lot of the conversation around this is fixating too hard on the "30%". It's 30% of a price they set. You would not be selling your normal content for 10 dollars for a set, and getting 3 bucks out of it- you'd be putting it up for early access for 2 weeks and then it'd become unmonetized.

Every paralives preview is a fantastic way to showcase just how unfinished this game is gonna be. You shouldn't be able to find this many basic visual issues in this short of a video. -Feet sliding, an issue across all paralives animations -Animations snapping into each other instead of transitions

SimAndy has revealed Marketplace creators didn't necessarily get the full story on what the project entailed until partway through the process and she, personally, backed out midway through. This platform really might just fail outright at this point. Nobody seems to be considering joining.

The simple fact is, the creators who signed onto this agreed to make both the sims 4 paid content and the sims 4 cc community worse. If none signed up... It wouldn't have launched. If none agreed to participate... It would've been shuttered. They are, in essence, scabs for both EA *and* free CC.
