Raze is roughly a foot taller than Kai *most* of the time, but Kai likes to shapeshift bigger sometimes and make him the little spoon. He’ll grumble about it, but that doesn’t stop him from snuggling in or being a brat until he’s held down and split open

In grade school I lived in a tiny town for awhile, like <800 people tiny, and there was a lot down a gravel backroad that fair rides went to die. I used to bring shiny rocks, snail shells, feathers, barn nails, whatever to give to the dead dragon kiddie coaster as gifts to go on adventures with me

When I was little I’ draw on any scrap of paper I could, usually diner place mats, receipts, napkins because dedicated paper was too expensive, but I was had to draw the world around me. Birds, fish, bugs, stuff latchkey kids poke around at. Writing I started young too, that was pure escapism

You ever try to sleep, toss and turn for hours because your brain won’t shut off, then get up and bang out close to 10k words of comic rough draft and world building to appease the creativity demon? Feels good but I’m so fucking sleepy today 🫠

I started in art school, got bullied out of that by family. Took up linguistics but got so disillusioned with the academy when working on my PhD dissertation. Left, ended up as a gov accountant working on a BS. Now I draw again as a hobby after ~20 years and I’m excited to tell stories
