Watched Star Trek: Section 31 because I was bored, and surely the IMDB rating of 3.8 had to be a mistake, right? Right? Fuck me, that was awful. It made The Final Frontier look like Citizen Cane in comparison.

A drunken conversation at a pub quiz got me to watch the whole of "Monkey Dust" again (if you've not seen it, it's bleak!); the theme tune is "That's Not Really Funny" by Eels which got me listening to this fine album again Moral: getting drunk at pub quizzes is a good thing...

The first album I ever bought with my own money, from when I was 12. My taste changed quite dramatically over the next couple of years, but I still have a soft spot for this one

Have had to return the Keychron K10 Pro I purchased a couple of weeks ago - a real shame as it was really nice to type on apart from the space bar, which had an unacceptable level of wobble and sounded absolutely awful

In another reality there would be a whole album of Aphex Twin tracks that Philip Glass orchestrated - unfortunately we live in this one, but his version of Icct Hedral is just sublime

Well, thank fuck this day is over; found out that a very old friend (and drummer for a previous band I was in for many years) took his own life on Wednesday. A glass was raised in your honour dude.

Currently listening to this; it's by no means Jarre's best work, but it is a late career highlight after some very middling (and downright awful) albums. Highlight for me is "Watching You" with 3D from Massive Attack.

This is the album that turned me into a Steven Wilson obsessive - to my mind, one of the greatest albums of the 2010s, if not this century (so far). Complex, accessible, harrowing and stunningly beautiful in equal measure. Everyone should listen to it at least once. #StevenWilson #HandCannotErase
